Our latest farmed species, dentex, which is unique in the world, has also been awarded the distinguished Superior Taste Award for 2021. This prestigious award is given by the International Taste Institute in Brussels to products that meet the strict criteria of a jury made up of the most respected chefs from all over Europe.
The products are evaluated by a blind test method based on appearance, smell, texture and taste, with the judges not knowing the brand or origin of the tested product. Dentex extended the list of Cromaris species that have already been awarded this prize, which includes sea bass, sea bream, meagre and amberjack. This recognition has made Cromaris the only producer of quality Mediterranean fish with as many as five awarded fish species.
