Cromaris is proud to be involved from the beginning in numerous projects collaborations with the academic community as well as national and international companies. We are primarily focused on projects of sustainable development and improvement of farming performance in aquaculture and bringing the importance of fish and seafood consumption closer to the end consumers.
We are extremely proud of our Bio Balls for a Bio Future project that was carried out in collaboration with the elementary school Petar Lorini in the village of Sali in order to educate the younger generations about the importance of protecting the sea and the seabed, and to restore the seabed in the Sali port by purging it of mechanical waste and throwing bio balls that we made from biodegradable clay and effective microorganisms with the help of schoolchildren.
Currently the most important Cromaris project.
The aim of the project is to create a uniformed broodstock originating from Cromaris broodstock and of unique appearance based on the appearance of wild fish, improving the quality of the produced fry in order to prevent from disease and adjust to the temperature of the Adriatic Sea.
Selection of the broodstock is performed in cooperation with the biggest UK selection specialized company.
We would especially like to highlight the Blue Smart Project in cooperation with the University of Zadar, which aims to create new skills and knowledge in the blue economy sector and increase the competence of current and future employees in the aquaculture sector.
PerformFish is also one of our active projects. Project goal is to improve technical performance in Mediterranean aquaculture, as well as to integrate innovative approaches to competitive sustainability and sustainable production throughout the value chain of Mediterranean aquaculture. We are one among 28 partners from 10 countries participating in the project.
In addition to universities, research centers and leading mariculture companies, Cromaris is participating in the NewTechAqua project. The main goal of the project is to develop new technologies, tools and strategies for a sustainable, resilient and innovative European mariculture industry. As one of the 26 partners included in the project, we are participating in the part of the project related to fish feed development and fish feeding.
