The business operations in 2024 took place under the strong influence of external factors beyond our direct control, yet with tangible daily impacts. These include geopolitical tensions and disruptions in raw material markets, inflationary pressures and shifting consumer behaviours, as well as climate change, which is increasingly shaping conditions in mariculture.
In such a dynamic environment, business stability does not imply maintaining the status quo but rather requires continuous adaptation and the timely identification of risks. At Cromaris, we are fully aware that long-term sustainability is not the outcome of one-off decisions, but the result of a series of daily echnical, operational, and organisational adjustments. Throughout 2024, we continued to develop and implement measures to mitigate the negative effects of external conditions: we optimised resource consumption, analysed vulnerabilities within our supply chain and assessed business resilience to climate change, maintained operations under standardised quality control systems, and improved mechanisms for collecting market feedback. While the effects of these measures are visible in certain segments of our operations, we remain aware of their limitations and the complexity of the challenges we face.
This report, prepared in accordance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), provides a transparent overview of our current position, the risks and impacts identified, and the areas in which we are making additional efforts. Our goal is to build a system that learns, adapts, and acts responsibly amid uncertainty.
We express our sincere gratitude to all employees whose daily efforts and expertise ensure business continuity and customer trust. We also thank our partners who share with us the challenges of supply chain disruptions and regulatory changes. We enter the coming year with caution, yet with clear objectives: to remain flexible, focused on customers and consumers, committed to tangible improvements, and responsible towards the resources and communities we are connected with.
