Cromaris’s strategic focus on superior quality of products has been confirmed by numerous certificates it has received. The two new certificates – Global G.A.P. (Good Agricultural Practice) and Friend of the Sea – represent yet another confirmation that strict quality standards are applied. GLOBALG.A.P. Aquaculture Standard The application of the standards set by this certificate ensures the health safety of products, along with constant care for the health and safety of employees, animal welfare, and environmental protection. The GLOBALG.A.P. Aquaculture Standard covers the entire production chain: from the hatchery, juveniles and food suppliers to the farming, harvesting and processing of fish and shellfish. This ensures traceability and food safety in all stages of production. Friend of the Sea Friend of the Sea is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation (NGO), that primarily focuses on the preservation of marine habitats, and represents the leading international project for certifying and promoting fish and seafood from sustainable fisheries and aquaculture. The Friend of the Sea certificate complements the GlobalG.A.P. certificate, while additionally emphasising social responsibility and impact on the environment, marine habitats and the local community. The award ceremony for both certificates was held on 22 April 2015 in Brussels during the “Seafood International” fair. For Cromaris, the compliance of products and the production process with the certification criteria does not represent a mere fulfilment of the set norms, but it is also a confirmation of the company’s strategic orientation towards sustainable mariculture in order to preserve the resources for future generations through responsible management.
